As a new client of our Arrowhead Animal Hospital in Westminster, you can expect our full attention to your pet’s needs.

When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted warmly, and we’ll usher you into an examination room after checking in your pet.

In most cases, one of our veterinary technicians will start by asking about your pet’s medical history, current condition and the reason for your visit, gathering data for the doctor.

One of our veterinarians will then examine your pet, ask you further questions and may recommend diagnostic tests if needed. Once the tests have been run, which can usually be done in the practice, your doctor will discuss a possible diagnosis and treatment plan if warranted.

This is a great time to ask questions. Our veterinary team wants to make sure you’re completely comfortable with the information we’re providing.

Our veterinary technician will likely come back to wrap things up and will provide you with helpful pet care information and answer any wellness and care questions you may have. Our front desk staff will process your payment and schedule any needed follow-up appointments.

Please note: Our goal is to see all our clients and patients on time, and although we have contingencies for emergencies, there will be times where the unexpected will create delays. We will ensure these are minimized as much as possible.

For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date. Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. This is one of the reasons we ask you to restrain your pet by placing on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the waiting room

Payment is due at the time of service. For your convenience we accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, etc.), checks, cash, and Care Credit. 

Pet Health Insurance

More and more pet owners are purchasing Pet Health Insurance for their beloved pets. With proper coverage, pet owners can more easily afford the best care for their special family members.

Pet health insurance has been around for a long time. There are many companies that currently provide pet health insurance and many different options for policies. The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) has provided special guidelines for pet owners looking into Pet Health Insurance. Those guidelines can be reviewed at the AVMA website www.avma.org. Look under issues and policies and pet health insurance. Please be sure to follow these guidelines when choosing an insurance provider.

Arrowhead Animal Hospital, P.C. has seen an increase in the number of clients using Pet Health Insurance. We have brochures for Veterinary Pet Insurance Company (VPI) available at the hospital, which is the company we have worked with the most. We include brochures in our puppy care and kitten care packets. The best time to buy pet health insurance is when your pet is young.

When you use Pet Health Insurance, you pay your invoice first. Then we assist you in completing your claim form. You receive reimbursement from the company after you submit the completed claim.

I hereby authorize the staff of Arrowhead Animal Hospital to render any treatment which is deemed necessary to the health of my pet(s) while in custody of the hospital. I understand that in the event of any unusual or emergency circumstances, the staff will make every attempt to contact me or my designated representatives before, if time permits, proceeding with the treatment. I understand that I will be financially responsible for all emergency procedures including the Estimate of Charges provided to me in person or over the telephone. I understand that a deposit is required for all pets admitted to the hospital. I understand that if my account is not kept in good standing, a finance fee of $25 will be added to the account and it will be forwarded to a third-party collections agency, which may affect my credit rating.
