Dr. DesMarteau

Dr. DesMarteau, DVM

Veterinarian

I am a Chicago area native and graduated in 2014 from University of Illinois with Bachelors in Animal Science before working as a veterinary technician for 2 years. I then completed my first 3 years of veterinary school at St. George’s University in Grenada and finished my clinical year at Virginia-Maryland in June 2021. I currently have 1 dog, Tig, who is a 4 year old “pot hound” (name for Caribbean island dogs); I obtained him after taking care of a a stray for the first couple months there, who we didn’t know was pregnant until she gave birth to 3 puppies in my bushes – during Midterm week! So we had to keep one. My passions in life outside of the veterinary field include music and well-being. I spend my free time attending concerts or music festivals and staying active by taking my dog on long walks, going to the gym frequently, and hiking – and when I have time after that I like to be crafty. I grew up in a family of 5 kids being the only girl – so I am big into sports, with the Chicago Cubs being my #1 !

Dr. Griffin

Dr. Griffin, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Griffin grew up in rural western New York where she knew from a young age she was going to be a veterinarian.  She graduated from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine with her DVM degree in 1994.  Upon graduation she moved to Charlotte, NC to escape the snow.  She worked in a mixed-animal practice for 2 years, then decided to focus on all small animals.  After 12 years in the South (and discovering Colorado during a conference), she decided she was brave enough to handle snowy winters again and moved here in 2006.

Dr. Griffin was an associate veterinarian at a small animal practice in Thornton for 15 years before joining the Arrowhead Animal Hospital team in January 2022.   She has a special interest in internal medicine.  During her free time she enjoys travelling, visiting various beaches around the world, and is an avid sports fan – Go Broncos!
